Student Elect Representative In CUHP Campus Poll


Students of School of MBA celebrate victory as the election results are declared at CUHP on Wednesday. 

Students of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh voted to elect representatives to the Student Council during the elections held in the campus on Wednesday. From 20 schools, 30 candidates were nominated, of which candidates from 12 schools won unopposed. For the remaining three schools - MBA, Humanities, Journalism – elections were held, which witnessed a voter turnout of 68.87 percent. Kashish Sood, Basudev Swain (School of Earth & Environmental Sciences), Devender Kumar (School of Life Sciences), Sandeep Kumar, Hardeep Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Anil Kumar Rana (School of Mathematics, Computers & Information Sciences), Sumeet Bharti, Anu (School of Physical & Material Sciences), Devinder Kumar, Tarunvir Wasan (School of Social Sciences), Santosh Kumar (School of Tourism, Travel & Hospitality Management) were elected unopposed.

Anjali *, a 21-year-old student, decided never to go alone to PG. She took that decision because what she thought a matter of only metro cities ,happened with her. One day on her way to PG , she found that two boys on bike were stalking her. As quoted by her ,”The two boys were following me. They stopped at one point and gazed at me and when I crossed them , again they started their bike and stopped at some distance and were continuously looking at me . “

The Pandit brothers at Shimla Classical Music Festival

The Pandit brothers, Rajan and Sajan Mishra performing at the concluding session of the five day Shimla Classical Music Festival at Gaiety Theater in Shimla. 

During the two and half hour long performance, they enchanted the audience with classical compositions and bhajans. The music maestros were performing in Gaiety after a gap of 30 years.
